Translation:
As bad as he was, I was worse. I was very sick. I had a headache. I drank lots and lots of tea. But I was still sick. I had rest. Now, I am better. It is a beautiful day. I want to go for a walk today. But It was my grandpa's birthday yesterday. So, we will be going to my mother's house. There will be a dinner party there. I will gather flowers and I will buy a watermelon.
My friend will be leaving next month. She will be going to university in Rome. We are sad. She will be there 2 years.

You don't need the "agus" there.
Tá sé lá álainn.
I'd probably prefer Is lá álainn é for that one.
beidh muid ag dul teach mo mháthair.
. . . ag dul chun teach mo mháthair.
Beidh sí ag dul ar ollscoil in An Róimh.
sa Róimh.
A useful verb for a sentence like this is "freastal". You could've also said:
Freastlóidh sí ar ollscoil sa Róimh.
(She will attend Uni in Rome)
Beidh sí ansin dhá bliain.
Beidh sí ansin ar feadh dhá bliain.

Is it just that its unnecessary (but not necessarily wrong) to have the "agus" in "chomh holc agus a bhí sé" or is completely wrong to include it? I'm wondering because I found the phrase in the Seans Eile program.

I would use the agus.
Bhí mé ní ba mheasa - níos is present tense! an-tinn - dntls.
bhí sé breithlá mo shean-athair inné.
uh-oh - tá sé fear! ba bhreithlá...é, or bhí breithlá...ann
teach mo mháthar (genitive)
breithlá mo sheanathar - also genitive!

i'm kind of confused by your first comment. should i have said, "ba bhreithlá mo sheanathar inné é," or "bhí breithlá mo sheanathar inné ann." was the way i worded it originally confusing, or just idiomatic english translated into irish?
